Oh? You want to pay attention to me?

biography
Once the daughter of the Vespertines, an aristocratic family hailing from Ishgard; Laeun stood out greatly from her dignified family.
Laeun was quick to make a name for herself, prone to excessive shows of attention seeking behaviors, and unstable moods.
Bringing upon great shame to her family as the years went on, with her penchant for such activities like purposely causing drama at social events, or slipping out in the night to excessively drink in The Forgotten Knight, much to the chagrin to other patrons.Enough had finally reached it's breaking point as Laeun reached adulthood, eliminating all hopes that the behavior would die out in her younger years, and the scandalous attention brought to the family only getting worse, the Vespertine family made the decision to disown her, casting her out from her privileged life. Living on her own, struggling in The Brume, she resorted to thievery, and trickery to get by; Stealing, seducing others into either giving her items, or simply just a hot meal. Due to this, she has a tendency to continue to see many people as tools to survive.Despite all this, Laeun still acts as if she is still amongst the high class of Ishgard, in order to give off the appearance that she has exorbitant wealth.
appearance and personality
Incredibly short for an Elezen, Laeun stands at roughly 5'2, though often wears heels to bring herself closer to a normal (albeit still short for her race) height. Her body is quite scrawny, with more visible bones than any sort of muscle mass, or fat to pad her out; She has a tendency to accentuate this with tight corseting. Her long, purple hair is always done in immaculate ringlet curls that bounce with every movement. She's never seen without makeup, often in shades of dark reds, purples, and black. Her clothing reflect every ounce of her personality to an almost exaggerated take on what someone thinks a noble lady would dress, or how one may dress a doll. She's often seen in elaborate dresses covered in ruffles, lace, and bows. While always hidden under layers of clothing, if one were to look at her bare arms, they'd notice the extensive scarring from her wrists up to her shoulders.

Haughty, vain, loud, annoying, and unbearably attention seeking would be most people's impression of Laeun.Laeun believes she deserves to be praised for every movement, and will make sure that everyone around her is aware of it. In her eyes, even at her worst, she is still the best in the room. Attention is like air to Laeun, feeling as though she may die if the spotlight isn't consistently on her. Due to the delusional level she sees herself at, she sees no issue in delving into her growing obsession with black magic, specifically to the point of being able to harness the power of Voidsent. She tends to seemingly lack proper empathy, casting aside the feelings of others, either through direct means of harm, or simply being uncaring towards the struggles of others. To a near compulsive level, she has a common tendency to lie, whether it be something detrimental to control it's outcome, and attempt manipulation, or just to boast about her apparent skills; Her lies often catch up to her due to her constant drinking habits leading to loose lips. However, underneath this personality is that of an incredibly insecure, and paranoid girl, who is completely oblivious of the world beyond her own vision.
What she truly fears most is abandonment, and she often is brought to hysterics over any notion that she may be cast aside.
Laeun has, or at least what would be the fantasy equivalent of both Borderline Personality Disorder, and Histrionic Personality Disorder. She also has a history of selfharm, sexual trauma, and disordered eating, though due to the acknowledged triggering subject matter, it is not something that comes up randomly with her character and can be chosen to be acknowledged by the player. I have no issue with navigating these types of things in a serious setting, but none of it will come up normally as to avoid triggers.I will play(and enjoy playing) dark, mature content and themes (violence, sexuality, drug / alcohol use) as long as they're logical in a plot-driven encounter.
Coarse and excessive language.
Temporary injury and incapacitation. Temporary imprisonment. Most walk-up encounters.
Erotic roleplay is allowed, but only if discussed OOC beforehand.I will not play permanent character death, though being brought close to death is okay.
Here's a few ways your character may, most likely to their chagrin, know Laeun!Does your character frequent different taverns? They may have witnessed her drunken ventures, starting general public drama, encouraging bar brawls, or clearly seeking out a free drink. Is your character of the high class Ishgardians? They may know of the Vespertine family; If they used to attend social gatherings, they may have encountered her before, or have simply heard of how her family kicked her out for her behavior. In the past ten years, has your character frequented The Brume, or the alleys of Ul'dah? They may have been victim to her thievery, especially if they are prone to falling for her deceiving charm.
